Donate

Each year we host Walk/Run for Literacy events. Under the Banner, “Were running so others can walk across the bridge to literacy,” participants have used social medial and word of mouth to invite friends to sponsor them.  Donations have provided transportation, housing and meals for volunteers in Burundi, Central African Republic, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to attend literacy training.

We participated in a Freedom Run at the OMS Missions Conference in Greenwood, IN, in June and held one more in September in Audubon, NJ.

This year’s fund-raising goal (as yet unmet) is $5,000 so we can pay to print Kingwana (Congo Swahili) tutor training manuals. We estimate it will cost about $5 per book to have them printed and bound in the region.

You also can directly support Bridge to Reading with your donations either by mail or online.

To teach one person to read, donate $12

To print 10 books of trainers books, donate $50.

To teach 10 people to read, donate $120

To train a tutor in a new region, donate $230
